Orígenes y los alimentos espirituales. El uso teológico de metáforas de comer y beber
This book presents a comprehensive study of the theological use of the metaphors of eating and drinking in the work of Origen of Alexandria, considering his physiological and exegetical techniques. Origen of Alexandria is one of the most influential theologians of early Christianity. His theology has a coherence and depth that has set the standard for various topics, such as the Trinity, Christology, and anthropology. Through metaphors, he accomplishes two challenging tasks: deepening the mystery of God and communicating it. In this book, the author studies Origen's theological uses of the metaphors of eating and drinking, including the text of the recently published "Homilies on the Psalms." This study confirms not only the classical aspects of Origen's theology, but also shows new perspectives, especially on intratrinitarian relations and the reciprocity in the relationship between God and human beings.
